Sarah Christina Peys is a third-year student of Biology. She is pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree, Major degree. Subsequently, she will pursue the Master of Science degree.
What made you choose this degree programme?
My biology teacher was very passionate about his subject and tried to pass on his enthusiasm to us students.
In which respect have or haven’t your expectations been fulfilled?
I had neither expected the curriculum to be that comprehensive nor the sheer mass of options pertaining to it. Neither did I expect physics, chemistry and mathematics to come into the mix.
Which aspect of your degree programme do you enjoy most?
I like the diversity!
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Physics and maths, without any doubt.
What would you like to become after completing your degree?
I would like to work in the field of neurology and have been specialising in and deepening my knowledge in this subject.
Which advice would you like to give to students who consider enrolling in this degree programme?
Show stamina and don't give up after the first setback! Everybody will fail one exam or other and get a poor grade, and everybody will go through a stressful or difficult phase. Also: focus on what you like – and not on what you think you can one day make money with. If you don't study something that you like, you might regret it one day.
